Léa · AI character
Hello, I’m Léa, from the Webdiffusion team at LSF Academy — a character created with AI. In three minutes, we’ll go over the four building blocks of Webdiffusion. Once you know who does what, everything else becomes simple.
Here are the four building blocks. On the left, what happens at the venue of your show. On the right, what goes over the internet. The manager to prepare, the studio app to take part, the PCR app to produce the program, and the cloud to connect and broadcast.
The manager is the web application where you prepare. Administrators create studios there — a studio is a production space with its people and its devices. You invite participants there, and you find your recordings there. And from the manager’s Home screen, the Open studio app link opens the studio itself.
The studio app is where the production happens. Each participant opens it in their browser or in the desktop application: at the venue, it connects to the PCR app over the local network; remotely, it goes through the cloud. Each device joins either as a Console — a person’s main station — or as a Companion: an extra camera, an intercom earpiece, a screen in the room. What each person sees depends on their role: Attendee, Operator or Director.
With the Live plan, the PCR app, for Production Control Room, joins the studio on a PC or a Mac at the venue. It mixes the program, adds the graphics, handles high-definition video, PTZ cameras and encoders, and feeds the broadcasts. Without the PCR app, the studio runs in Backstage mode, entirely through the cloud: preparation, recording, prompter, intercom — but no mixed program.
That leaves the cloud. It connects the participants who aren’t on site, lets you direct remotely, broadcasts to YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn or an SRT destination, and keeps your takes. The principle to remember: local first. If the internet briefly drops during the show, production carries on at the venue.
Those are the four building blocks: prepare, take part, produce, connect. In the next module, we’ll put precise words on what you work with: studio, source, scene and program. And to go further, the article “Manager, studio and control room” is waiting for you in the Help center.
What you will be able to do
Know what each of the four building blocks is for — the manager, the studio app, the PCR app, the cloud.
Know where you prepare, where you take part, where the program is produced and what goes through the cloud.
